Dr. Butterfield is a clinical neuropsychologist with BayCare Medical Group at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL where she conducts neuropsychological evaluations for individuals with concerns of cognitive deficit. She received her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa with specialization in neuropsychology and completed internship and postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. 

Dr. Butterfield specializes in neurodegenerative disease, particularly movement disorders (e.g. Parkinson’s, atypical Parkinsonism, Huntington’s disease) and memory disorders (e.g. Alzheimer’s, vascular, frontotemporal dementia, mild cognitive impairment), and has experience with brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, cancer, learning disorder, and pre-/post-surgery evaluations (e.g., DBS, LVAD), among others. While primarily working clinically at this time, her research background is in understanding cognitive and mood changes that occur in movement disorders and in developing and evaluating interventions that aim to improve mood, motivation, and thinking in Parkinson’s disease and in healthy older adults. She is a member of the Neuro Challenge Medical Advisory Committee and has published peer-reviewed articles in publications such as the Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry and Neurology, and Neuropsychology.
